Album Sweep: October 25, 2014 - Part Two...






Part two of this week's "album sweep" is up, sampling the records making their first appearance on this week's Top 200 Albums sales chart in Billboard magazine. Coming in at #54 is the soundtrack to the new Nicholas Sparks book-to-film adaptation The Best Of Me. The set is mostly country artists with new material, including Lady Antebellum, Kacey Musgraves, and Colbie Caillat...

Australian-born singer/songwriter Betty Who lands at #68 with her first full-length album, Take Me When You Go. Earlier this year her Slow Dancing EP came in at #57...

Husband and wife banjo masters Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn move in at #118 with their self-titled project...


The Texas Hippie Coalition, a heavy metal band from the northeast of that state, rock in at #119 with their third album for Carved Records, Ride On...


Veteran norteño act Los Tigres del Norte, based now out of San Jose, California, enter at #130 with Realidades. It's their eighteenth to make the Top 200 in the U.S.; though none have made the top-40 yet, La Granja in 2009 came close peaking at #45...


Seattle indie-rockers Minus The Bear climb in at #144 with Lost Loves, an EP or rare unreleased songs. Their last studio album, Infinity Overhead, became their first top-40 set in 2012...


Legendary British guitarist Johnny Marr, best known for his work with The Smiths, comes in at #153 with his second solo album Playland. His first, The Messenger, went to #86 last year...


DC-based noise-pop singer/songwriter Mary Timony's project Ex Hex puts an Rips on the chart at #170...


British pop/soul singer Paloma Faith arrives at #176 with her third album A Perfect Contradiction. Her last, Fall To Grace, came in at #170. Both sets went to #2 on the British albums chart...


The final new entry of the week at #200 belongs to indie-rock band From Indian Lakes, whose third album Absent Sounds is their first to nick the chart..
