twostepcub's music chart for September 5, 2014...

Hey gang, Friday is here and it's time to run down my top 100 tunes from the past week. Sam Smith reigns at #1 for an eleventh week, while his collaboration with Disclosure moves up a couple spots in the top ten. Former big hits from Martha Wash, Arctic Monkeys, Luke Bryan and John Legend drop off of my list, while songs by David Guetta, Jennifer Lopez, and Meghan Trainor make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). In a "Lady Marmalade"-style move, the triple-lead "event" record "Bang Bang" from English singer Jessie J, former Nick queen Ariana Grande, and rapper/singer/assmaster Nicki Minaj team up at #87 with "Bang Bang"....

Chicago punk rockers Rise Against return at #92 with "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore", the first single from their seventh album The Black Market. Their last album in 2011 sent three singles to my chart, with "Help Is On The Way" ending up on my year-end top 100...

For a complete 180 from that at #93 is Aussie "rapper" Iggy Azalea with British singer Rita Ora on "Black Widow", the former's follow-up to her top-10 hit "Fancy", which is at #32 this week...

Country rock/jam group the Zac Brown Band are back at #95 with "All Alright" one of the collaborations with the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, who produced the EP this is on...

Rapper Schoolboy Q makes his debut at #96 with his #1 R&B hit "Studio" with BJ The Chicago Kid...

As Canadian singer Kiesza's "Hideaway" nears my top-ten as it gains traction in the States, her current British single "Giant In My Heart" pops in at #97...

Miami duo Chron enter my list at #98 with their first hit "Bass In Me"...

Latin-rock fusion giants Santana return to my list in a non-traditional way (for them) as their top-20 dance club hit "Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find A Way)" with Haitian-American rapper Wyclef Jean and Swedish DJ/producer Avicii and Brazilian singer Alexandre Pires arrives at #99. The track is from the companion album to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil...

The final entry on my chart this week at #100 has Robin Thicke sneaking in with a track from his "try to make up" fiasco Paula, "Get Her Back". Even though the album relatively tanked, this single is getting a lot of play on urban adult contemporary radio...

That's it for my personal list, I'll be back tomorrow to check out the songs making the national radio and club charts...Cheers!
