Dance Sweep: September 20, 2014...

I'm ready to wrap up today's "chart sweeps" with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio, with the charts from Billboard magazine...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart Basement Jaxx land their fourth #1 hit and first since 2000 with "Never Say Never"...

I think there will come a time where every single Yoko Ono recording will get a dance remix, and with her history she'll continue to score #1 hits into her 90s. In the meantime, the 81-year-old enjoys the highest debut of the week at #38 with "Angel", a rework of her "I'm An Angel" off of the Double Fantasy collaboration album with John Lennon. The original lullaby-like song seems a little jarred here, but hey, it's freakin' Yoko...

Nicki Minaj slithers in at #40 with her booty-banging "Anaconda". I can't.

House music king Ralphi Rosario is already leaping up the chart at #21 with "Stand Strong" with partner Abel Aguilera as Rosabel (which criminally still doesn't have a video), but he also comes in on his own at #43 with "Sex Machine" featuring HiFi Sean. The fun and dirty thumper is my "Dance Pick of the Week"...

Singer/songwriter Mary Lambert moves in at #47 with remixes of her pop hit "Secrets"...

Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Ariana Grande runs up from #7 to #1 with "Break Free"...

Dillon Francis teams up with DJs Sultan and Ned Shepard at #23 for "When We Were Young" featuring the Chain Gang of 1974...

As has former Swedish House Mafia partner Alesso makes the top-20 on the club chart, Sebastian Ingrosso lands here at #24 with "Wasted Love" featuring Dougy, which itself climbs to #35 on the club play list...

That's all for tonight's musical journey...thanks for taking the trip, and I hope something has caught your ear...
