Dance Sweep: September 13, 2014...

I'm at the end of today's "chart sweeps", checking out the songs making the singles charts in Billboard magazine, and I'll wrap things up with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, Jennifer Lopez lands yet another #1 hit with "First Love"...

House music master duo Rosabel (Ralphi Rosario and Abel Aguilera) have the highest new entry at #31 with "Stand Strong" featuring disco veteran Jeanie Tracy. The trio have been to #1 together twice before, with "The Power" in 2001 and "Cha Cha Heels" in 2004. There's no YouTube as yet, but here's the link to it on Spotify...

Steve Angello, 1/3 of the disbanded EDM powerhouse Swedish House Mafia, lands at #45 with "Wasted Love" featuring Dougy.

British neo-house DJ/producer Duke Dumont returns at #48 with "Don't Look Back", my "Dance Pick of the Week".... It follows two #1 hits in the Grammy-nominated "Need U (100%)" and "I Got U". This one should have no trouble threepeating...

Former NSync-er and radio personality Lance Bass performed his latest single "Walking On Air", featuring newcomer Anise K and Bella Blue, in the opening ceremonies of the Gay Games in Cleveland/Akron Ohio last month, and now enters the chart at #49...

The last debut on the club chart at #50 is "Tonight" from Russian duo Fagault & Marina featuring Mandy Jiroux...

Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Clean Bandit's ultra-awesome "Rather Be" takes over the #1 spot...

Both debuts on this list aren't dance records per se but crossover hits...the first at #11 is R&B singer Jeremih with his #1 hit "Don't Tell 'Em"...

And newcomer Meghan Trainor takes her #2 pop hit "All About That Bass" to this list at #23...

That's all for tonight...Thank you for taking today's musical trip with me. Hopefully you've heard something new that's captured your ear. Cheers!

For the record, that Gay Games performance was HORRIBLE...low point of the show for me.

I totally second that. God knows what they paid him to come.
