Country Sweep: September 13, 2014...

Part four of today's "chart sweeps" has the latest country songs on the radio as monitored by the folks at Billboard magazine...

On their Country Airplay chart, Lady Antebellum land their ninth #1 hit with "Bartender"...

Singer/songwriter/hunk Lee Brice's third album I Don't Dance gets its release this coming Tuesday, and while the title track already went to #1 a few weeks back, it's successor,  "Drinking Class" is the top debut at #48...

Brad Paisley's last single, "River Bank", stopped short at #2; his latest, "Perfect Storm", now comes in at #52...

Velvet-voiced singer Joe Nichols, whose "Yeah" just topped the chart, lands at #53 with "Hard To Be Cool", and my "Country Pick of the Week" in a weak field from strong artists...

A surprise entry at #59 as British pop singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran drops in with "Don't". It's a good record, but I didn't quite see the "country" in it, (basically more Blackstreet's "No Diggity") but somebody must be playing it at country...

Finally, at #60, is duo American Young with "Wasn't Gonna Drink Tonight". Member Kristy Osmunson was formerly in the group Bomshel. This song is their second hit; their first, "Love Is War", went to #44 last year...

I'll wrap things up in an hour and a half with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio....
