Brit Sweep: August 14, 2014...

Better late than never, I'm back to check out the songs making their debut on the Official Singles Chart in Britain from last Sunday.

The biggest song in the UK last week was the first from Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz with "Am I Wrong", which leaps 51 spots to the top...

The top debut of the week is the third top-ten single from American pop/rock band OneRepublic's expanded Native album, "Love Runs Out". They took "Counting Stars" all the way to #1 in this country...

Critics' fave Jessie Ware lands her first top-40 hit in her native country as "Tough Love" is in at #35, and it's my "Brit Pick of the Week"...

Theatrical heavy metal band Slipknot returns to the British chart at #71 with "The Negative One". They've actually been quite successful in the UK, scoring six top-40 hits, with "Duality" going to #15 in 2004...

Belgian drum and bass musician Netsky teams up with the lead singer of the Gossip, Beth Ditto, for "Running Low" at #80. It's his first to make the top-100 as a lead artist; Beth went to #76 in 2011 with "I Wrote The Book"...

The final single making its debut this week is an oldie from forty years ago as Blue Swede enters at #90 with "Hooked On A Feeling". Its inclusion in the totally awesome Guardians Of The Galaxy movie no doubt spiked its sales...
