Soul Sweep: July 12, 2014...

We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", sampling the songs making the charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out I'm serving up the latest on R&B radio...

On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Chris Brown holds for a sixth week at #1 with "Loyal"...

Rapper Young Thug sent his first hit "Stoner" to #10; now his newest, "Danny Glover", comes in at #41...

Another newcomer, Rae Sremmurd, moves in at #46 with "No Flex Zone!"...

Jazz-soul singer/pianist Robert Glasper and his Experiment enters at #48 with "Somebody Else" featuring Scottish alt-soul singer Emeli Sande'. The song peaked at #15 on the Adult R&B chart and now sits at #20 there...

Rap vet T.I. teams up with Young Thug at #50 on "About The Money". It follows "No Mediocre", which falls from its so-far peak of #34 to #44...

Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, John Legend's "All Of Me" jumps back up to #1 for an eighth non-consecutive week...

The top entry at #23 is from singer Dave Hollister, who back in the day was a part of the new jack swing group Blackstreet. His new one is "Spend The Night"...

Another R&B vocal group, Jagged Edge, is back at #27 with "Hope"...

Ne-Yo is in at #28 with "Money Can't Buy" featuring rapper Jeezy. The single also moves up to #23 on the main R&B airplay chart...

Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, which includes more dance music in their playlists, Ariana Grande's "Problem" climbs to #1. It's her first to top this format...

T.I.'s "No Mediocre" with Iggy Azalea jumps in this chart at #32...

Beyonce is back at #38 with "Pretty Hurts", my "Soul Pick of the Week". She went to #1 at this format with the first single from her self-titled project, "Drunk In Love"...

The final new entry at #39 is Iggy Azalea pairing up with singer Rita Ora for "Black Widow", as her "Fancy" drops from the #1 spot...
