Robbed Hit of the Week 6/30/14 - Howard Jones' "Like To Get To Know You Well"...

Howard Jones - "Like To Get To Know You Well"
from the album Dream Into Action (1985)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #49

This week's "robbed hit" is from British new-wave singer-songwriter Howard Jones, whose second album Dream Into Action brought the biggest crossover success, reaching the top-10 on the albums chart in America and spinning off two top-40 hits with "Things Can Only Get Better" and "Life In One Day". The third single released from the set in the U.S. was a track originally released in the UK as a stand-alone single and part of a remix album from his debut, and went to #4 on that country single's chart. "Like To Get To Know You Well", written by the artist and produced by Rupert Hine (The Fixx, Tina Turner), was tacked onto Dream Into Action for American audiences...

"Like To Get To Know You Well" stopped at about the halfway point on the American pop chart in November of 1985.
