Soul Sweep: May 24, 2014...






We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", with the newest songs on the radio charts in Billboard magazine, and this time I'm serving up the latest R&B hits...

On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Jhene Aiko spends a second week at #1 with "The Worst"...

Leaping on the chart at #19 is Usher with "Good Kisser". He's been to #1 here 11 times so far, the latest with "Climax" in 2012...


The first single from rapper Lil' Wayne's upcoming Tha Carter V album, "Believe Me" featuring Drake, lands at #35. The pair also topped the chart in 2011 with "She Will" and "The Motto" (the latter with Drake as the lead)...


British soul singer Daley comes in at #49 with "Look Up", a track that's already up to #13 on the Adult R&B list. Previously he went to #31 with "Alone Together" with Marsha Ambrosius...


Rounding things out at #50 is rapper Schoolboy Q with "Studio" featuring BJ The Chicago Kid. It's the fifth single from his #1 album Oxymoron...


Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, Pharrell Williams' "Happy" reigns for an eighth week...

Neo-soul singer Ledisi follows up her top-5 hit "I Blame You" with the song at #26, "Like This"...


British soul singer Sam Smith drops in at #27 with "Stay With Me"....


Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson climbs in at #29 with "Walk It Out" featuring Timbaland. It's my "Soul Pick of the Week"...


Finally, on the Rhythmic format, which adds some dance music to their playlists, Trey Songz climbs to #1 with "Na Na", while the aforementioned "Good Kisser" by Usher is the top debut at #32...

Canadian reggae-rock band Magic! crosses over to this R&B format at #34 with "Rude"...


Rapper KCamp drops in at #39 with "Cut Her Off" featuring 2 Chainz...


The final entry here at #40 is "Wake Up In It" by Mally Mall and Tyga with other rappers French Montana and Pusha T with singer Sean Kingston...
