Soul Sweep: June 7, 2014...

We're at the "hump" of this week's "chart sweeps", checking out the songs making the charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out I'm serving up the latest songs on R&B radio...

On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Chris Brown takes over the #1 spot with "Loyal" featuring Lil' Wayne, Tyga, Too Short, or French Montana (depending on which version you're airing)...

Well it seems that Australian-born rapper Iggy Azalea is able to conquer this chart as "Fancy" featuring Charli XCX is the top debut at #36...

Another "pop" style crossover on this chart at #42 is Frenchman DJ Snake with crunk rapper Lil' Jon on "Turn Down For What"...

At #49 is rapper Ty Dolla $ign with "Or Nah" featuring Wiz Khalifa and DJ Mustard. It's the follow-up to "Paranoid", which made it to #6 on this chart...

Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel,  Pharrell Williams reigns for a tenth week with "Happy"...

The artist Pharrell collaborated on for a #1 hit with "Blurred Lines", Robin Thicke, is back at #18 with "Get Her Back"...

Neo-soul singer Calvin Richardson is in at #26 with "We Gonna Love Tonite". Four years ago he went to #18 with "You're So Amazing". This new one samples Marvin Gaye's classic "Sexual Healing"..

Rounding things out at #30 is Usher with "Good Kisser". He's topped the chart in this format four times, the most recent with "Climax"...

Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, which include more dance music in their playlists,  DJ Snake is at #1 for a second week with the aforementioned "Turn Down For What"...

Pharrell leaps in at #33 with "Come Get It Bae", my "Soul Pick of the Week"...

British neo-house sibling duo Disclosure enter at #38 with their pop top-40 hit "Latch", featuring vocals from Sam Smith...

At #39 is Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz with their tropical beat of "Am I Wrong"...

The final debut at #40 is singer and rapper TeeFlii with his first, "24 Hours"...

I'll return in 90 with the latest on country radio....groove on!
