Soul Sweep: April 26, 2014...

We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", sampling the songs making their way on to the charts in Billboard magazine. This time out I'm serving up the latest R&B songs on the radio.

On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Pharrell spends a fifth week at #1 with "Happy"...

The top entry of the week belongs to singer and producer Rico Love with "Bitches Be Like" at #40. It's the follow-up to "They Don't Know", which went to #22 on this list...

Newcomer Anthony Lewis makes his debut at #44 with his cover of Soul For Real's 1994 hit "Candy Rain"  featuring rapper Billy Bang. The original topped the R&B chart and made it to #2 on Billboard's Hot 100...

Singer and dancer Mila J arrives at #46 with the regimen of "Smoke, Drink, Break-Up". Back in 2006 she made it to #64 with "Good Lookin' Out"...

The last new entry on the list at #50 is Sebastien Mikael with his first, "Forever"....

Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, "Happy" also commands, this time for a fourth week...

Landing at #29 is Prince, who is making news by "making nice" with Warner Brothers and getting his catalog of music back, and now he's in with "FALLINLOVE2NITE" with actress Zooey Deschanel, with whom he appeared on her New Girl show...

And at #30 is my "Soul Pick Of The Week" from DJ Cassidy with the disco lusciousness of "Make The World Go Round" with vocals from R. Kelly..

And finally on the Rhythmic format, which incorporate dance music with hip hop and soul, Pharrell pulls a trifecta with "Happy" climbing back to #1 for a second non-consecutive week....

Rapper Future comes in at #34 with "Move That Doh" featuring Pharrell, Pusha T, and Casino...

Scottish EDM DJ and producer Calvin Harris dances in at #36 with "Summer"...

Singer and rapper Dev moves in at #38 with her latest, "Kiss It" featuring rapper Sage The Gemini...

The last debut on this list at #39 is Jennifer Lopez with "I Luh Ya Papi" featuring French Montana...

I'll be back in 90 with the newest on country radio...Groove on!
