Country Sweep: April 12, 2014...

Part four of this week's "chart sweeps" has the latest country songs making the radio as monitored by Billboard magazine...

On the Country Airplay chart, Blake Shelton has his record-breaking eleventh consecutive #1 major-release single with "Doin' What She Likes"...

The Brothers Osborne, from central Maryland, took their debut single "Let's Go There" to #36. Now their ode to "Rum" splashes in at #55...

Making her first appearance on the country chart is Colombian singer Shakira along with her Voice co-star judge Blake Shelton on "Medicine" at #57. Yes, it's a play to get ink for the promo for her self-titled album. But it's at least a very good 90's style country two-step burner that finds both of them in top form and not phoning it in (though I swore at first she was singing "Madison")...

South Carolinian singer-songwriter Austin Webb scores his third hit at #58 with "Raise 'Em Up". His last, "Slip On By", nicked the top-40 at #40. Sorry to say, checklist pop-try.

The last entry of the week at #60 and my "Country Pick of the Week" is from Kellie Pickler, with the third single from her The Woman I Am album, "Closer To Nowhere"...

I'll wrap things up in an hour and a half with the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...Twang On...
