Soul Sweep: March 8, 2014...

We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps" sampling the songs reaching the various singles charts in Billboard magazine, and now I'm serving up the latest on R&B radio...

On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Beyonce' and hubby Jay Z spend a sixth week at #1 with "Drunk In Love"...

The top debut of the week sees the return of rapper Nicki Minaj, who has been weirdly under the radar last year. Hmmm. Rehab? Anyway, whatever the case may be, she's back at #45 with "Lookin' Ass"...

The third entry at #26 is American Idol champ Ruben Studdard with "Love, Love, Love".  He had topped this chart in 2006 with "Change Me"...

Lastly, on the Rhythmic format chart, The aforementioned "Drunk In Love" makes it week number two at #1...

Rapper B.o.B enters at #37 with "John Doe" featuring Priscilla, the fourth single from his Underground Luxury album. It's my "Soul Pick of the Week"...

British breakbeat artist and producer Naughty Boy lands at #39 with "La La La" featuring vocals from Sam Smith.
