from the album Purple Rain (Original Soundtrack) (1984)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #25 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 6

"Take Me With U" became Prince's fifth top-40 pop hit from the album in March of 1985, while just making the same grade at #40 on the R&B chart. In England, the record did much better, peaking at #7. It's a fitting end to the single releases from the album, as its psychedelic sound pointed to what was in store in his next album Around The World In A Day.

There are few songs in my memory that totally nail the vibe of a scene in a movie like "Take Me With U." Truly a highlight from Purple Rain.
