Album Sweep: March 1, 2014 - Part One...


Hey folks, I'm ready to roll out the first half of this week's "album sweep", sampling the songs making the Top 200 Albums sales chart in Billboard magazine. As always, I've included highlighted links to buy any of the albums or the artists' other work if possible, but if you get a chance, please visit an independent record store, it'll do you (and the economy) good...

The top-selling album of the week selling close to 300,000 copies this week is the fourth studio album by country rocker Eric Church, The Outsiders. It's his second to reach the top of the albums chart; in 2011 he did the same with Chief...

Los Angelino electro-industrial trio The Glitch Mob debut at #13 with their second full-length Love Death Immortality...


Deftones lead singer Chris Moreno's side project Crosses enters at #26 with their first full-length album ††† (Crosses)...


Country singer Frankie Ballard arrives at #35 with his second album and first to make the big albums chart, Sunshine And Whiskey...

The triple-a rock compilation Sweetheart 2014 nestles into the chart at #65. It has Valentine's Day themed selections from artists like Beck, Fiona Apple, Vampire Weekend, The Head & The Heart, and more..


Due to the demand given his new #1 album, Eric Church also enters the chart at #71 with 4 Album Collection, a 'box set' of his first three studio albums and his live set....


Folk-rock act Sun Kil Moon comes in at #75 with Benji. It's the first for the group to make the top half of the chart...
