Kraut Sweep: January 2, 2014...

I'm ready to head back east to check out the songs making the official sales chart in Germany this week, as Pitbull and Ke$ha climb to #1 with "Timber". It's the rapper's first #1 as a lead artist (he also was on top cameoing on Jennifer Lopez's "On The Floor"), while the trash-pop queen went to the top with her debut, "Tik Tok"...

This time of year is normally quiet for new releases, since it's post-holiday, however The Voice of Germany, that country's version of the hit show, is airing now, there's a bit of action. The top entry of the week at #4 is by series three winner Andreas Kummert, who perfectly displays the mission statement of the program - you don't have to have a "look" to get noticed. Well Andreas is in with two of his songs. First at #4 is his 'Winner's Song' "Simple Man"...
