twostepcubchart's Best of 2013: Part Four - #70-#61...

I've got part four of my countdown of the 100 biggest songs on my weekly charts in 2013. You can also check out part one, part two, and part three....

#70 - Cazzette - "Beam Me Up (Kill-Mode)"
from the EP Beam Me Up (The Remixes) (2012)
twostepcubchart peak: #18 (three weeks)
weeks on the chart: 19

The Swedish dance music duo had a different marketing approach, with a track initially only available on EDM store Beatport, but that didn't stop them from conquering the clubs and dance radio like the zombified people in the video.

#69 - Alicia Keys & Maxwell - "Fire We Make"
from the album Girl On Fire (2012)
twostepcubchart peak: #28 (two weeks)
weeks on the chart: 31 (in 2013)

Two of the most heralded voices in soul music come together with this sultry romantic dance that dominated adult R&B stations this year.

#68 - Serena Ryder - "Stompa"
from the album Harmony (2012)
twostepcubchart peak: #10 (two weeks)
weeks on the chart: 19

This former Canadian top-ten hit gave me the same vibe as KT Tunstall's "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree" from a few years back. I really dug the tough but not aggressive chick with a guitar thing Serena's got going...

#67 - Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly - "Cruise"
from the album Here's To The Good Times (2012)
twostepcubchart peak: #19 (two weeks)
weeks on the chart: 20 (in 2013)

Last year the duo had a #1 country hit with their first try, which got a second life on pop radio this year tacking rapper Nelly on for the ride.

#66 - Fall Out Boy - "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark"
from the album Save Rock And Roll (2013)
twostepcubchart peak: #7 (three weeks)
weeks on the chart: 17

The pop/rock band returned with a vengeance and an ambitious promotion plan, with music videos filmed for each of their tracks from the album, telling a story in the process, and released their first single here right in the middle of the narrative. Take that, Beyonce.

#65 - Taylor Swift - "I Knew You Were Trouble"
from the album Red (2012)
twostepcubchart peak: #22 (three weeks)
weeks on the chart: 19

Taylor's most non-country hit to date was this dive into dubstep that inspired a thousand goats, but as a pop confection it goes down pretty well. The video here is hilarious, considering how serious it pretends to be at the beginning before the kiddie-pop kicks in.

#64 - Carrie Underwood - "Two Black Cadillacs"
from the album Blown Away (2012)
twostepcubchart peak: #3 (one week)
weeks on the chart: 16 (in 2013)

Carrie's second song on this years list proved she can go bombastic without having to rewrite "Before He Cheats" for the sixth time.

#63 - Little Big Town - "Tornado"
from the album Tornado (2012)
twostepcubchart peak: #2 (one week)
weeks on the chart: 14 (in 2013)

The tightest vocal group in country music also explored the revengy side of being cheated on with this record with awesome use of harmony and space.

#62 - Lady Antebellum - "Downtown"
from the album Golden (2013)
twostepcubchart peak: #20 (two weeks)
weeks on the chart: 21

This record veered the crossover country trio more into pop music territory than ever before, but their laidback attitude was a refreshing change from their previous work.

#61 - Armin van Buuren featuring Trevor Guthrie - "This Is What It Feels Like"
from the album Intense (2013)
twostepcubchart peak: #24 (three weeks)
weeks on the chart: 21

The Dutch trance king recruited former Canadian pop star Guthrie (one half of the group soulDecision) for this, his first dance track to make my yearly countdown.

I'll return on Monday with the next set of ten, with four repeat appearances, and a middle-aged rock group heads to the country.
