Rock Sweep: December 21, 2013...

Round two of this week's 'chart sweeps' sampling the songs reaching Billboard magazine's singles charts is up, and this time I've got the latest rock songs on the radio...

On the main Rock Airplay chart, Cage The Elephant spend a fifth week at #1 with "Come a Little Closer", while there are no new songs on the chart..

Moving on to the individual rock radio format sub-charts, "Battle Born" by Five Finger Death Punch  is on top for a second week on the Mainstream Rock list, and also there isn't any entries here...

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, "Come A Little Closer also rules here for a fifth week...

California indie-pop group Hellogoodbye come in at #37 with "(Everything Is) Debatable"...

British alt-rocker Jake Bugg enters at #38 with his first modern rock hit, "What Doesn't Kill You"...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Passenger hangs tight at #1 for a second week with "Let Her Go"...

Bruce Springsteen returns at #22 with his latest, "High Hopes"...

...and at #24 is another big act from the 80s, U2, with "Ordinary Love", my "Rock Pick of the Week"...

The last debut here at #29 is Australian singer/songwriter Vance Joy with "Riptide"...

That's all of the new in rock...I'll be back in an hour and a half with the latest on R&B radio. Rock on!
