Album Sweep: December 7, 2013 - Part Two...


I'm ready for the second half of this week's "album sweep", sampling the records making their first appearance on Billboard magazine's Top 200 Albums chart. You can check out the first part by clicking here, and as before I've included links to buy anything when possible.

Coming in at #38 is experimental rock act A Perfect Circle, which was started as a side project for Tool frontman Maynard James Kennan and guitar whiz Billy Howerdel. Their first "greatest hits" collection, Three Sixty, has all eight of their songs that made the rock charts from 2000 to 2005, plus their currently-charting hit "By And Down" from this year. All three of the act's studio albums went top-5, with both Thirteenth Step and eMOTIVe going to #2....

Boston rapper Sammy Adams places his second EP Homecoming at #45....


British indie-rock singer/songwriter Jake Bugg is in at #46 with his sophomore effort Shangri-La....


Swedish theatrical "doom metal" outfit Ghost B.C. drop in at #87 with the If You Have Ghost EP. Earlier this year they took their second album Infestissumam to #28 in this country...


Dominican reggaeton singer and actor Arcangel (Austin Santos) enters at #98 with Sentimiento Elegancia y Malad....


I guess since the music comedy Glee's sales aren't the same as their heyday at the beginning of the decade, they've been churning out EPs instead of full-length album collections, and their latest, Movin' Out, featuring seven Billy Joel songs, comes in at #107. It's their eighth EP to chart - their Power Of Madonna and Journey To Regionals both went to #1 in 2010....


They're still trying to make Australian teen idol Cody Simpson "happen", and his Acoustic Sessions EP arrives at #118, his second mini-set to make our chart. Two years ago he went to #12 with Coast To Coast...


Rapper Hopsin places his first album in the chart as Knock Madness is in at #132...


The last entry at #189 is X Factor finalists Fifth Harmony with their Better Together: Acoustic EP. The original Better Together miniset came in at #6 in October...
