Rock Sweep: November 23, 2013...


Welcome back to part two of this week's "chart sweeps" sampling the songs reaching the singles charts in Billboard magazine. This time out it's the latest on rock radio...

On the main aggregate Rock Airplay chart, Cage The Elephant climb to #1 with "Come A Little Closer", their first on the main airplay list...

Indie-rock duo twenty one pilots and the higher of the two debuts at #39 with "House Of Gold". It follows "Holding On To You", which went to #32 here. Their new one moves to #24 on the Modern Rock format..

The other debut belongs to Queens Of The Stone Age, with "I Sat by The Ocean", the second single from their #1 album Like Clockwork...


...and now on to the rock radio format sub-charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, Korn spend a second week on top with "Never Never"...

Kings of Leon arrive on this chart at #37 with "Temple"...


The other entry at #40 are newcomers Eve To Adam with "Immortal"..


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, the aforementioned Cage The Elephant track moves up to #1, becoming their fourth chart-topper here..

Only one song comes on the chart, and it's Danish rock band New Politics with "Tonight You're Perfect". It follows up their #4 hit "Harlem"..


At the Triple-A (Adult Album Alternative, or "hipster" rock) format, Pearl Jam's "Sirens" jumps to the top...

The one entry here at #27 is American Authors with their adult-pop crossover, "The Best Day Of My Life"...


On the harder-edged Active Rock radio panel, Korn's "Never Never" stays at #1 for a second week, while the aforementioned Kings of Leon and Eve To Adam tracks enter the chart at #37 and #39 respectively...

Joining them at #40 is Las Vegas metalcore band Escape The Fate with "One For The Money"..



Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock chart, Avenged Sevenfold's "Hail To The King" reigns for a twelfth week...

Christian hard-rock band Skillet drop in at #22 with "Not Gonna Die"....


Chart toppers Avenged Sevenfold are also in at #23 with "Shepherd Of Fire"...


Finally, Halestorm blows in at #25 with "Mz. Hyde"...
