Aussie Sweep: November 6, 2013...


G'day, gang, I'm ready to head Down Under to check out the latest songs to make the official sales chart in Australia this week...

As the X Factor Australia had its finale last week, the remaining finalists place their songs on the chart. And the top-selling single of the week is by the winner of the TV contest, Dami Im, with her original "winner's song" "Alive", my "Aussie Pick of the Week". The South Korean-born singer who lives in Queensland has been dominating the performances this season...

With the X Factor buzz, British show alums One Direction manage to come in at #3 with their "Story Of My Life". It's in a notch higher than their last, "Best Song Ever"...


A former judge on the X Factor and a winner of Australian Idol himself, Guy Sebastian returns at #4 with "Like A Drum". It's his twelfth top-10 single in Australia; six of them topped the chart, the latest being "Battle Scars" last year...


Katy Perry drops from the #1 spot this week with "Roar", but she arrives at #11 with the follow-up, "Unconditionally"...


Eminem re-teams up with Rihanna for the song at #13, "The Monster"...


The second of Dami Im's performances from the X Factor to make the list is her cover of "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls at #29...


Lady Gaga's third preview track from her upcoming ARTPOP album, "Venus", descends at #31...


14-year-old Jai Waetford came in third on the X Factor Australia, but he does manage to be the second-highest ranking finalist on the chart as his original song and audition piece "Don't Let Me Go", is in at #37...


Fall Out Boy drop in at #40 with "Alone Together", the third single from Save Rock and Roll. The first, "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark", went to #30 here earlier this year...


The runner-up on X Factor Australia, Taylor Henderson, pops in at #43 with his take on Damien Rice's "The Blower's Daughter"....


Taylor Swift is back at #44 with her contribution to the movie One Chance, "Sweeter Than Fiction"...


We're back to the "other" Taylor, as in Henderson, at #45 with fun.'s "Some Nights", his reprise of his audition song..


Reece Mastin, the winner of the third season of X Factor Australia sneaks in at #59 with "Girls (All Around The World)". He topped the chart here twice with "Shout It Out" and "Good Night"...


Dami Im's redo of her own X Factor audition song, "Hero", comes in at #62...


Justin Bieber's "Recovery" is the next debut up at #63...


Due to Taylor Henderson's cover, Damien Rice's original of "The Blower's Daughter" makes its first appearance on the chart at #82...


The final entry at #98 is Dutch DJ and producer Afrojack with "The Spark" featuring Spree Wilson. As a lead artist, he went to #17 with "Take Over Control"...
