French Sweep: October 29, 2013...

Eminem has the highest debut of the week at #23 with his craptacular and homophobic "Rap God". It follows "Berzerk", which drops to #11, and "Survival", which falls to #26...

French jazz-pop singer Zaz, from the city of Tours, arrives at #34 with "Si" ("If"), my "French Pick of the Week".  It's the second top-40 hit from her sophomore album Recto Verso; "On Ira" went to #12 earlier this year.

Justin Bieber's one-off single "All That Matters" comes in at #40....

Depeche Mode are back with their third release from Delta Machine, "Should Be Higher". The lead single "Heaven" went to #27 earlier in the year...

Austrian house music and filter sampling whizzes Global Deejays return at #81 with "Kids". They had a pair of top-20 singles in 2004-5 with "What A Feeling (Flashdance)" and "The Sound Of San Francisco"...

The final debut of the week is by a record that has already gone top-5 in both Germany and Great Britain. It's "Sonnentanz" by the Austrian group Klangkarussell...

That's it for this week's music rendezvous...I'll be back later with the latest in Germany.... au revoir!
