French Sweep: October 22, 2013...

Bonjour, mes amis, It's time to check out the songs making the latest official sales chart in France this week, as Stromae strings up a sixth week at #1 with "Formidable"...

The top entry on the chart at #21 is the second single from Eminem's upcoming Marshall Mathers 2 album. The rock-tinged "Survival" follows "Berzerk", which also leaps from #54 to a new peak of #10 this week...

Justin Bieber's one-off single "Heartbreaker" finally makes the chart in this country at #26. It's the first of ten planned one a week. It's his fourth top-40 hit as a lead artist - he topped the list in 2010 with "Baby"...

Swiss singer and guitarist Fauve ("Wildcat") scores his first top-40 hit in this country as "Voyou" ("Thug") debuts at #30...

German/Nigerian singer Ayo enters at #40 with "Fire". It's her second top-40 hit in France - she went to #16 in 2009 with "On Aime, On Aide"...

French singer Christophe Mae', from the southeastern Provence section of the country, moves in at #80 with "La Poupee" ("Doll"). He's topped the charts in France twice, with "On S'attache" in 2007 and again in 2010 with "Dingue, Dingue, Dingue" (which even made my personal chart)...

Pop and stage vocalist Helene Segara teams up with the late French/American singer Joe Dassin for the single at #94, "Et Si Tu N'existais Pas" ("And If You Never Lived"). Helene has topped the charts here twice; in 1997 she dueted with Andrea Bocelli on "Vivo Per Lei", and in 1999 she repeated with her own "Il y a Trop de Gens qui T'aiment". This one is my "French Pick of the Week"...

French singing duo Flavel & Neto, who specialize in Latin and Angolan music, arrive at #95 with "Eu Quero Tchu, Eu Quero Tcha" ("I Want You")...their other sertanejo single, "Pedida Perfeita", went to #18 earlier this year...

The final entry of the week at #99 is Cuban-American rapper Pitbull with Ke$ha with "Timber"...

That's it for this week's French music chart rendezvous...I'll be back with the latest in Germany later on...
