French Sweep: September 10, 2013...

It's time to cross the Atlantic again to check out the songs making the official charts in France this week, as Swedish producer Avicii spends a second week with his folk-EDM track "Wake Me Up"...

The big debut of the week at #15 is Eminem with his newest track "Berzerk". The rap star has had seven top-10 singles in France, with three of them tied for his best topping out at #3 - "Without Me", "Lose Yourself", and "Love The Way You Lie"...

Leaping in at #45 is French singer Mylene Farmer with the title track from her latest album, Monkey Me. So far she has racked up a baker's dozen of #1 hits. It's my "French Pick of the Week"...

Tal, a French singer born in Israel, enters at #50 with "Pas Toi" ("Not You"). She's had two top-10 singles, with "Le Sens De La Vie" reaching #4. This new one is from the Generation Goldman 2 collection honoring songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman...

Canadian rapper Drake is back at #59 with his smooth new single "Hold On We're Going Home" featuring the group Majid Jordan. He's been to the top-40 in France four times, with "What's My Name" (in a featured role) making it to #16...

Miley Cyrus backs in at #63 with "Wrecking Ball", her follow-up to "We Can't Stop", which made it to #37 in this country...

Miley's twerking partner, Robin Thicke, is in at #71 with "Give It 2 U"....

One notch under that is British singer Ellie Goulding with "Burn", her 3-week #1 in her homeland. It follows her first top-10 single in France, her featured credit on Calvin Harris' "I Need Your Love"...

Tal also enters the top-100 with a second track, "A L'international"...

The final debut of the week at #93 is Dutch remixing duo Showtek with "Booyah" featuring We Are Loud and Sonny Wilson. Earlier this year they scored their first French top-20 hit with "Slow Down"...

That's it for this week's newbies...I'll be back later with the latest in Germany....
