Album Sweep: September 7, 2013 - Part One...

Hey gang, it's time to kick off the first half of this week's "album sweep" sampling the records that reached the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart for the first time. As always, I've included links to buy anything when possible...

The top-selling album for a second week is Luke Bryan, who pushes another 150K+ records this week with Crash My Party.

Almost reaching that level but selling a little less that 150K is John Mayer with his sixth studio album Paradise Valley which comes in at #2. Three of John albums reached the top: Heavier Things (2003), Battle Studies (2009), and Born and Raised (2012)...

Reigning at #3 is the collaborative album from three R&B vocal stars, Tyrese (the model), Ginuwine, and Tank. Their 3 Kings album under the TGT moniker is their first together; before that, Tyrese has had two prior top-10 albums, with 2011's Open Invitation reaching #9, Ginuwine placed four records in the top 10 with 2001's The Life going to #3, and Tank has racked up three solo top-10s, with his Sex, Love & Pain effort in 2007 doing better than them all at #2...

Parrothead King Jimmy Buffett returns after four years with his 29th studio album Songs From St. Somewhere at #4. This is his ninth top-10 album, he's only done better with his chart-topping country-tinged record License To Chill from 2004. Oh lord, this is definitely on my list of the worst songs of the year.
