Album Sweep: September 28, 2013 - Part Two...


Hey folks, I'm back with round two of this week's "album sweep" sampling the records making their first appearance on this week's Top 200 Albums chart in Billboard magazine. You can check out part one by clicking here, and as usual I've included links to buy anything if possible.

Coming in at #75 is the iconic electronica duo Goldfrapp, named for its lead singer Alison, with their sixth full-length studio album Tales Of Us. Their last, 2010's Head First, made it up to #45...

Madonna's fourth live album becomes her fourth to make the chart as MDNA World Tour arrives at #90. Her last, Sticky & Sweet, went all the way to #10 in 2010...



Brass player Trombone Shorty enters at #108 with Say That To Say This....


Hawaiian Christian act New Hope Oahu is in at #113 with Hope Is Alive....


Seattle's Minus the Bear sees their Acoustics II album come in at #115. Their last regular studio release, Infinity Overhead, became their first top-40 album last year at #31...


Experimental rockers Man Man from Philadelphia enter at #135 with On Oni Pond. It's the highest rank they've had from the three albums that made the chart...


Veteran industrial-rock band Ministry return at #140 with their self-proclaimed last album From Beer To Eternity. After guiltarist Mike Scaccia died from a heart attack on stage, leader Al Jourgensen declared Ministry will not go on, but finished the tracks they were working on. In their career Ministry placed two albums in the top 40, with Filth Pig reaching #19 in 1996...


Pop-punk faves Bowling For Soup enter at #142 with their eleventh album Lunch.Drunk.Love. They previously hit the top-40 one with A Hangover You Don't Deserve which peaked at #37 in 2004...


Alt-metal newcomers Gemini Syndrome debut at #150 with Lux....


Canadian hard rock artist Redlight King comes in at #152 with his second full-length album Irons In The Fire. It's his first to make the big chart....


 Rock group J Roddy Walston and the Business, from southeastern Tennessee, enter at #156 with their first album on new label ATO, Essential Tremors...


Mormon musician Hilary Weeks ascends to #161 with Say Love...


Folk artist Jake Smith, who records as The White Buffalo, who can be heard on the show Sons Of Anarchy, drop in at #164 with Shadows, Greys & Evil Ways...


British dubstep musician Zomboy arrives at #169 with his four-track EP Reanimated...


The final new entry at #192 is jazz vocalist Gregory Porter with his third album and first to reach the chart, Liquid Spirit...
