French Sweep: August 27, 2013...

Hey gang, it's time to cross the Atlantic to check out the songs reaching the official sales chart in France this week, as Stromae's "Papaoutai" holds on for a fourth week at #1...

In the "battle" between Katy Perry and Lady GaGa's fangirls, it's Mother Monster who wins with her single "Applause", which comes in as the top entry at #3. She topped the charts in this country only twice with "Poker Face" and "Bad Romance"...

Meanwhile, Katy is in at a respectable #8 with "Roar". She's had a rougher "go" in this country, as only six of her previous hits made the top-10, with none going higher than #5 (which "I Kissed A Girl", "If We Ever Meet Again" with Timbaland and "California Gurls" all did)...

The next entry doesn't come until down at #82 with Robin Thicke and his slow-jam "4 The Rest Of My Life"...

British singer Birdy returns at #86 with "Wings", her third single from her debut disc. The first two, "Skinny Love" and "People Help The People", both went top-10 here...

The final debut of the week at #97 belongs to Dutch DJ/producer Bakermat with his second charting hit "Uitzicht" ("View"). His first, "Vandaag", reached the top-40 here...

I'll be back with the latest in Germany...
