Brit Sweep: August 11, 2013...


Hey gang, the end of the weekend is upon us, and time to check out the songs reaching the top 100 of the just-released official sales chart in Britain.

The biggest selling song of the week in the UK goes to Miley Cyrus, who's tweaked out and twerked up "We Can't Stop" debuts in the top position. It's not only her first #1, it's her first top-10 hit in this country - the highest she got before was #11 with three different records, "See You Again", "The Climb", and "Party In The USA"...

Rocketing in at #3 is British hiphop artist Tinie Tempah with the first single from his upcoming Demonstration album, "Trampoline", featuring American rapper 2 Chainz. Tinie has topped the UK charts three times, with his debut single "Pass Out", the international hit "Written In The Stars", and in a featured credit on Rita Ora's "R.I.P."...


American rock group Kings Of Leon are in at #31 with "Wait For Me", the second track released from their upcoming Mechanical Bull set. It comes in one notch higher than the first, "Supersoaker"...


Another American act, OneRepublic, arrive at #43 with "Counting Stars". Its the first from their new album Native to make the top-100 in the UK...


Canadian rapper Drake returns at #56 with "Hold On We're Going Home". So far he's only made the top-10 once as a lead artist with "Take Care" from last year..


Drum and bass sibling act Brookes Brothers enter at #71 with "Carry Me On", my "Brit Pick of the Week"...


Modern Rock group Bastille come in at #84 with the fifth top-100 UK single from their Bad Blood album, "Things We Lost In The Fire"...


The final entry of the week belongs to folk-pop singer Lissie, with "Further Away (Romance Police)" at #99...
