Brit Sweep: July 16, 2013...

Hey gang, I'm back home, and it's time to catch up on the songs that made this weeks official chart in Britain this week, as Robin Thicke climbs back to #1 for a fifth week with "Blurred Lines". It's the most weeks on top since Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know"...

The top entry at #3 is by Sebastian Ingrosso, who comes off a stint as one-third of the Swedish House Mafia with "Reload". He does collaborate with two others, remixer Tommy Trash and singer John Martin, so I guess he can't get away from those trios (last year, he charted at #19 with "Calling (Lose My Mind)" with Alesso and Ryan Tedder....)

Jumping in at #6 is British pop band Lawson with the fourth top-10 hit out of five tries with "Brokenhearted" featuring American rapper B.o.B. So far their second, "Taking Over Me", has been their biggest, topping off at #3 last year. It's by "Brit Pick of the Week", and this band should be 1D big in the States...

Australian 'hip-hop' artist Iggy Azalea scores her second top-20 single in the UK with "Bounce" at #13. It follows "Work" from earlier this year....

After a two year break singer Katy B returns at #21 with "What Love Is Made Of". Her debut album On A Mission spun off three top-10 hits with "Lights On" going to #4 in 2010..

Jay-Z hype machine release Magna Carta Holy Grail is the top-selling album in the UK last week, and two of its tracks place on the singles chart as well. First at #24 is the Justin Timberlake-enhanced "Holy Grail"...

London "grime" artist Sneakbo is in at #27 with "Ring A Ling". Last year the man born Agassi Odusina was a featured artist on the top-10 hit "Oliver Twist" by D'Banj...

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris comes in at #49 with the ninth single to make the chart from his 18 Months set (including Rihanna's "We Found Love"). "Thinking About You" featured vocals from Jordanian singer Ayah Marar...

American R&B singer Ciara is back at #54 with "I'm Out" featuring Nicki Minaj. She topped the British charts back in 2004 with "Goodies"...

Justin Timberlake enters at #64 with the lascivious "Tunnel Vision"...

Los Angeles indie-rock heroes Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes debut at #65 with their three-year-old track "Home"...

The second Jay-Z track to come on to the singles chart on its own is his collab with wife Beyonce, "On The Run (Part 2)" at #93. It's a reference to their "Bonnie And Clyde" pairing...

The last entry at #95 is Chris Brown digging up Aaliyah's corpse for "Don't Think They Know"...

I'll return with the latest in France and Germany later on...
