Pop Sweep: June 15, 2013...

Hey gang, it's time to kick off today's five-part "chart sweeps" of the new songs making their way on to the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine, and as always, I'll start off with the latest on the pop scene.

On the "big" chart, the Billboard Hot 100, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis command a fifth week at #1 with "Can't Hold Us" with Ray Dalton...

The top debut of the week is by America's favorite lil' urine drinker, Ke$ha, with the third single from her Warrior album, "Crazy Kids" featuring the king of pop trash, will.i.am...

The third effort from this season's The Voice is again by the vapid teen protege' of Blake Shelton's, Danielle Bradbery, with the Judds' "Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout The Good Old Days)", a song that went to #1 ten years before she was born...

Country singer Tyler Farr gets his first Hot 100 hit at #95 with "Redneck Crazy"...

Finally, Justin Moore takes his sixth country hit to the big chart with "Point At You" at #97. The first of them, "Small Town USA", almost made the top-40 at #44 in 2009...

...and now for the pop radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Top-40 panel, Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors" enjoys a third week on top...

Their are two new songs, and the higher one at #37 is British newcomer Labrinth with his sublime "Beneath Your Beautiful" with Emeli Sande...

Jamaican singer Sean Kingston comes in at #40 with "Beat It" with, yes, Chris Brown (no pun intended)...

Meanwhile, over on the older-skewing Hot Adult-Top 40 radio format, Pink's "Just Give Me A Reason" holds on for a fifth week at #1...

The solitary debut at #33 is a track I had been championing since it appeared on the country chart a few months ago. It's San Franciscan pop/rock group Train with one of the Pistol Annies, Ashley Monroe, with "Bruises", my "Pop pick of the Week"...

Lastly, on the Adult Contemporary, or "easy listening" chart, the Lumineers light up the top spot for a seventh week with "Ho Hey", and there are no new songs...

That does it for the beginning of today's musical journey, I'll return in 90 minutes with the newest on rock radio....
