Brit Sweep: June 30, 2013...

Hey blogettes, I'm back from Pride in NYC and ready to check out the songs making the Official Sales Chart in Britain just released this afternoon.

After weeks of copycat versions of Icona Pop's "I Love It" reaching the charts here, the real thing gets into UK stores and debuts up at #1 (another phony version by the New Music Masters comes in at #61).....

British "boy band" the Wanted place their eighth song into the top-10 at #4 with "Walks Like Rihanna". It's the second single from an upcoming September release...

Drum and bass stars Chase & Status arrive at #15 with "Lost & Not Found" featuring vocalist Louis Mttrs. It's their sixth to make the top 40; in 2011 they went to #5 with "Blind Faith"...

Leeroy (Reed), who appears on the TV "reality" show The Valleys, comes in at #37 with his debut single, "Can't Get Enough" featuring Nagla...

Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro have racked up sixteen top-40 hits in the UK, and they return at #49 with what may be their next, "Opposite"...

Singer/songwriter Jake Bugg places the sixth track from his self-titled debut album on to the top-100 as "Broken" jumps in at #56...

Another "bait and switch" track, a copy of Avicii's unreleased "Wake Me Up" by Sparks Productions, enters at #84...

In at #93 is Canadian crooner Michael Buble' with "Close Your Eyes" from his To Be Loved album...

Chris Brown pops in at #94 with a posthumous "duet" with the late Aaliyah, "Don't Think They Know"...

The final entry of the week at #98 belongs to the singer who won the latest British season of The Voice, Andrea Begley, with her rendition of the Lumineers' "Ho Hey", from her quarterfinals...

That does it for tonight...I'll be back tomorrow with another Song of the Day, part two of this week's "album Sweep", and my "robbed hit" of the week... Cheers!
