Aussie Sweep: June 19, 2013...

Hey gang, it's time to go Down Under to check out the songs reaching the official music sales chart in Australia, as Robin Thicke spends a sixth week on top with "Blurred Lines"...

Well, the Australian version of The Voice crowned a victor on Sunday, and the four finalists all show up on the chart this week with multiple entries. The singer who won, Harrison Craig (from Seal's team), comes in with the two highest debuts on the chart. At #2 is his rendering of the Righteous Brothers' classic "Unchained Melody"....um, yeah. I guess he's like the male Danielle Bradbery with a little better pitch control.

In a twist from the American version, the finalists sing an original song as one of their final performances. Harrison's "More Than A Dream" grabs the #3 slot. He does better with this one, treacly as it is, though the offnotes are still here...

The other entry in the top-10 belongs to singer/dancer Timomatic with "Parachute". It's his third record to reach this level. He performed it on the Voice finale...

The runner-up on The Voice is Luke Kennedy from Ricky Martin's troupe, and his two performances didn't make the top-20. At #22 is his original track "Love Is Gone". He's got the best voice of the four here....

And his voice is in full effect at #23 with "Caruso", a song by Lucio Dalla that #2 in Italy in 2012 honoring the operatic singer Enrico Caruso....

In the middle of all this Voice madness, is Miley Cyrus with her new dance-pop mess of "We Can't Stop" at #26

The third-place finisher, and only woman in the top-4 of The Voice Australia, is Celia Pavey, and she's in at #32 with "Candle In The Night", her original selection...

New Zealander singer/songwriter Lorde debuts at #47 with "Tennis Court", which went to #1 in her home country...

At #59 is alt-electronica act Major Lazer with "Bubble Butt" featuring singer Bruno Mars along with rappers Tyga, 2 Chainz, and Mystic...Lord. (NSFW)

Sydney-based indie-folk band Boy & Bear debut at #63 with "Southern Sun"...

Popping in at #73 is Celia Pavey again (from Delta Goodrem's team BTW) with the totally off choice of "Xanadu".....

The fourth-place finisher on The Voice Australia finally appears on the chart at #78 with the Passenger folk-rock song "Let Her Go" by Danny Ross from Joel Madden's crew...

The last debut at #89 is Ross' original "Windmills"...

That does it for tonight....tomorrow I'll return with another Song of the Day, 7 of the 70s, and 8 more from the 80s. Good night!
