Soul Sweep: May 18, 2013...

We're up to the "hump" of today's five-part "chart sweeps" of the latest songs to make the singles charts in Billboard magazine, and now I'm up to the newest on R&B radio..

On the main R&B/HipHop chart, rapper Wale gets down for week 2 at the top with "Bad" featuring Tiara Thomas...

The top debut at #46 is the single that got portly rapper Rick Ross dropped from his Reebok promo deal for the date-rape glorifying verse that got dropped from Rocko's "U.O.E.N.O." featuring Future, though somehow the credit still stands in the mag's chart...(NSFW)

Cuban-American hip-hop artist Kat Dahlia gets her first ink on the chart as well at #48 with "Gangsta"...

The last debut on the main chart at #49 is another newcomer, Kstylis, the self-proclaimed "King of Twerk" with "Booty Me Down"...

Meanwhile, over on the more mature Adult R&B chart, Tamar Braxton spends five weeks (dot com) at #1 with "Love And War"...

Singer Ann Nesby got her start with the gospel dance collective Sounds Of Blackness, and she's got the top entry at #34 with "Through With You", my "Soul pick of the Week"...

...and proving the infiltration of rap onto the format, Drake's "Started From The Bottom" shows up at #40...(NSFW)

That's a wrap for this installment...I'll return with the newest on country radio...Groove on!
