Rock Sweep: April 20, 2013...

It's time for part two of this week's "chart sweeps" sampling the songs reaching the singles charts in Billboard magazine this week. Right now I've got the latest on rock radio.

On the aggregate Rock Airplay chart, Imagine Dragons stay at #1 for a sixth week with "Radioactive".

Jumping in at #37 is Alice In Chains with the followup to their top-10 hit "Hollow" called "Stone"...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

Coming in at #42 is Frank Turner with his alt-rock hit "Recovery"...

The last debut at #50 is glam-rock metal group Black Veil Brides with "In The End"...

...and now for the format sub-charts...

On the Mainstream Rock chart, Halestorm stick around at #1 with "Freak Like Me"..

The sole debut here at #39 is Surrender The Fall with "Some Kind Of Perfect"...

Meanwhile, at the Modern Rock/Alternative format, the aforementioned "Radioactive" hangs in for an eighth week on top...

The top entry at #34 is the #1 band Imagine Dragons with their next single, "Demons"....

Rapper Macklemore and collaborator Ryan Lewis follow up their top-20 alt-rock hit "Thrift Shop" with the marriage equality anthem "Same Love", and it's my rock "Pick Of The Week"...

The last debut here at #37 is Long Beach alt-rock band Cold War Kids with "Miracle Mile", their fifth hit on the chart...

Over on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") radio, Family of the Year score their first #1 hit with "Hero", and there are no new songs on the list...

At the harder-edged Active Rock chart, Papa Roach climb to the top with "Where Did The Angels Go"...

Arriving at #38 is Middle Class Rut with "Aunt Betty"..

One rung below that at #39 are the Virginmarys with "Dead Man's Shoes"....

..and finally at #40 is British neo-prog-rockers Muse with "Panic Station"...

Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock format, Young Guns climb to #1 with "Bones", as the aforementioned "Stone" by Alice In Chains is the top-debut at #17...

The other entry at #25 is Eric Clapton with his awesome latest one, "Gotta Get Over"..

That does it for the rock side of the house...I'll be back in an hour and a half with the newest on R&B radio. Rock on!
