Rock Sweep: April 13, 2013...

Hey gang...it's time for round two of today's catch-up "chart sweeps" of the new music debuting on the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine, and this time it's the latest on rock radio...

On the aggregate Rock Airplay chart, Imagine Dragons chalk up a fifth week at #1 with "Radioactive", and surprisingly there are no new songs on the big rock chart this week.

...and now for the format charts....

On the Mainstream Rock list, Halestorm climb to the top with "Freak Like Me"...

The top entry at #31 is grunge masters Alice In Chains, who follow up their former #1 hit "Hollow" (which drops from the top to #4 this week) with "Stone", the second single from their May release, which I'm psyched for....

Coming in at #35 is another followup to a #1 rock hit, as "Asking Too Much" succeeds their chart-topper "Stand Up"...

British indie-rock group Foals crosses over to this format with their top-20 modern rock hit "Inhaler" as it enters at #38....

The last debut here at #40 are the Deftones, who went to #3 with their last hit "Tempest". They're back with "Swerve City"...

Meanwhile, on the Modern Rock/Alternative chart, Imagine Dragons are on top for a seventh week with "Radioactive"...

South Australian rockers Atlas Genius have the top entry at #33 with "If So", which follows their top-5 hit "Trojans"...

Popping in at #35 is classic British new wavers Depeche Mode with "Soothe My Soul", my "Rock Pick of the Week"....

Back in 2010, Sacremento-based alt-rock duo Middle Class Rut made the top-10 with "New Low", and they're back at #39 with "Aunt Betty"...

Over at the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Mumford & Sons hang in at #1 for a fourth week with "Lover Of The Light"...

The big debut of the week at #26 is singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson with the first single from his next upcoming album, "Mission Bells"...

Canadian indie-pop (girl) group BOY debuts at #28 with "Little Numbers"...

At the harder-edged Active Rock chart, Papa Roach move to the top with "Where Did The Angels Go", while the aforementioned Alice In Chains, All That Remains, and Deftones tracks are the new entries at #28, 33, and #36...

Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock list, Alice In Chains' "Hollow" stays at #1 for an eighth week...

The top entry at #19 is Danish metal stars Volbeat with "Hangman's Bodycount"...

And coming in at #20 is former Cinderella vocalist Tom Keifer with "Solid Ground", and what a welcome return!

That does it for the rock side of the house...I'll be back with the newest on the R&B charts..
