Album Sweep: March 16, 2013 - Part Two...

Hey guys, I'm back with part two of this week's "album sweep" sampling the records making their first appearance on Billboard magazine's Top 200 Albums chart, and as before I'm linking to anything you can buy on Amazon, but please check out an indie record store if you can. You can see Part One by clicking here..

Arriving at #86 is the first solo album project for legendary British guitarist Johnny Marr, The Messenger. After the Smiths broke up in the late 80s, Marr has done stints with The The, Electronic, and a lot more, but now he's finally decided to put out something of his own. yay!

Neo-soul singer Bilal is back at #103 with A Love Surreal, his fourth studio set.

Kansas City rapper Kutt Calhoun scores his second charting album as Black Gold comes in at #120...(NSFW)

What's a week without more metalcore, and this week it's western Massachusetts-based Within The Ruins with their third full-length effort, Elite...(NSFW - gruesome)...(PS the lead singer is way hot)

Moody Blues frontman Justin Hayward returns with a solo set, Spirits Of The American Way at #142.

French synthpop musician Kavinsky arrives on American shores with Outrun at #156. It contains "Nightcall", featured in the movie Drive and immensely popular back home...

R&B singer Tweet is back at #162 with her EP Simply Tweet. Her debut album Southern Hummingbird went all the way to #3 in 2002...

The last entry of the week at #164 is by the late Mexican singer Jenni Rivera with her 2007 compilation Mi Vida Loca...

That does it for part two...out of these eight I would go for the Kavinsky, Johnny Marr, and Justin Hayward sets first....
