Soul Sweep: February 16, 2013...

I'm back with the middle section of today's five-part "chart sweeps" of the newest songs making their way on to the Billboard music singles charts, and I'm up to the latest on R&B radio.

On the R&B/HipHop Airplay chart, Miguel just won't let go as "Adorn" is #1 for an incredible 22nd week.

The top debut at #46 is by Juicy J, one of the remaining two members of the Three 6 Mafia, the rap group who won an Oscar in 2006 for their song "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp". Really. Anyway, Juicy is back with the followup to his #2 stripper anthem "Bandz A Make Her Dance" called "Show Out" featuring Big Sean and Young Jeezy. There is nothing either entertaining or artistic about this product. Grade: F (NSFW)

Is there a requirement for Chris Brown to be inserted on a certain percentage of the releases out there?  Well, rapper Fabolous returns at #47 with "Ready" featuring the self-proclaimed martyr. It's his first lead-artist hit in three year, after going to #2 twice in the 00s with "Can't Let You Go" and "Make You Better". Grade: D- (NSFW)

..and making all three entries by dull-toned rappers, Ace Hood arrives at #48 with "Bugatti" with Rick Ross and Future. The Floridian made the top-10 on this chart twice as a lead artist, with "Body 2 Body" (featuring...yes...Chris Brown) going to #8 in 2011. Grade: F+ (NSFW)

Meanwhile, over on the fittingly Adult R&B chart, former Gap Band singer Charlie Wilson moves to the #1 spot this week with "My Love Is All I Have"..seriously, Charlie is exuding 10 times more realness than this crop of blingin' poseurs.

The sole debut here (and pretty much by default my pick of the week) is by Anthony Hamilton, who besides having a cool song in the Django Unchained film, pops in at #37 with "Best Of Me", the fourth single from his Back To Love album. Grade: B-

That's it for this sweep...I'll be back in 90 with the newest on country radio. Groove on!
