French Sweep: February 26, 2013...






It's time to travel over to Europe this afternoon to check out the new songs making the top-100 official sales chart in France this week, as "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis cash in a fourth week at #1...

The top entry on the chart at #15 this week is the second promo single for Justin Timberlake's upcoming 20/20 Experience album, "Mirrors". It follows "Suit & Tie", which came in at #8 five weeks ago and now sits at #45...

Meanwhile, N-Sync's "legacy", One Direction score their biggest hit in this country as their charity single cover mashup of "One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)", which medleys Blondie and the Undertones, arrives at #17...and Harry Styles is really going for the young Mick Jagger look, no?



Wiggling its way in the chart at #34 is Brooklyn "trap music" DJ Baauer with the "Harlem Shake"....


French world-music singer Axel Tony, from the Parisian suburb of Colombe, debuts at #41 with "Au-delĂ  des mots" ("Beyond Words"). Last year his debut single "Avec Toi" reached the #7 spot...


The White Stripes finally get their classic track "Seven Nation Army" on the French chart at #48. Besides this ten-year-old song, the now-defunct duo placed three other songs on the charts here...


Canadian actor-turned-rapper Drake comes in at #65 with his latest, "Started From The Bottom". He's had one lead-artist top-40 hit in France, "Take Care" (with Rihanna) which went to #26....(NSFW)


Another track featuring Drake, Lil' Wayne's "Love Me", comes in at #67.  "Weezy" went to #22 with "Mirrors" in 2011...


Bruno Mars' followup to his still-top-10 "Locked Out Of Heaven", the ballad "When I Was Your Man", enters at #71....


Another American A-lister, Pink, arrives at #78 with "Just Give Me A Reason" featuring Nate Ruess of fun...


British indie-rockers Foals have their first French hit at #90 with "My Number"...


The only other entry on the chart at #97 is singer Mary White with a cover of the Berlin song from Top Gun "Take My Breath Away". Though you can't see this anywhere on YouTube, you can check it out on Rhapsody...
