Dance Sweep: February 16, 2013...

Hey gang, we're up to the final "chart sweep" of the day, and now it's time for the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio, as per Billboard magazine.

On the DJ-polled Hot Dance Club Play chart, Estonian singer Kerli earns her second #1 single (after "Army Of Love") with "The Lucky Ones"...

The top debut this week belongs to Dutch DJ/producer Afrojack, who recruits the ever-present Chris Brown at #40 for "As Your Friend". The track was leaked in November, and supposedly has a Rihanna connection, but I could hardly give a fuck. Grade: D+

Trash-pop queen Ke$ha returns at #42 with "C'mon", the followup to her top-10 dance hit "Die Young". Grade: C+

Newcomer Skye Stevens gets his second hit on the chart at #44 with "Rewind".  I admit I was ignoring the Autotune with the hunky dancer behind him, but it's all good, not a bad pop ditty but there's no remix vid out yet. Grade: C

There has got to be a time where they run out of Yoko Ono songs to remix, but it hasn't happened yet, as "Hold Me" enters the club chart at #46. Grade: C

The last new song of the club play list is by Newark-born singer and former "Tiara Girl" from American Idol, Julissa Veloz, with her latest, "Overload" at #48. She took "Take Control" to #8 on this chart in 2010. This is the first video I think is "Instagrammed". Grade: C-

Meanwhile, over on the radio-monitored Hot Dance Airplay chart, the top-two flip-flop again and Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" regains the top spot for a twelfth non-consecutive week.

Israeli-born DJ/producer Matt Schwartz, who records under the moniker M'Black, comes in at #23 with "Crush". He recently co-wrote Kylie Minogue's "Timebomb", and this new one is my pick of the week. Grade: B

Pink arrives at #24 with her pop hit "Try". Somehow it loses a little when hurried along. Grade: C+

That does it for today's sweeps...you can check out my personal top-100 by clicking here, and I'll return tomorrow with another Song of the Day, candletime, part one of this week's album sweep, and my British music recap. Have a safe night!
