Country Sweep: February 16, 2013...

Hey folks, I'm up to the fourth part of today's "chart sweeps" where I sample the latest songs making the weekly music charts at Billboard magazine, and this time I've got the latest on country radio.

On the Hot Country Airplay chart, Jason Aldean moves to #1 with "The Only Way I Know" featuring Luke Bryan and Eric Church. It's Jason's ninth #1 country hit, as well as Luke's sixth and Eric's third...

Rampaging in at #22 with the top debut is Kenny Chesney with his new single, "Pirate Flag" from his upcoming Life On A Rock set. He's accumulated 20 #1 singles on the chart since "She's Got It All" in 1997. All I can say is that he is hanging on to his "brand". Grade: C+

Atlanta country-rock band Blueberry Smoke fire it up at #53 with their first hit, "Pretty Little Lie", from their top-10 album The Whipporwill. Grade: B-

Country group Parmalee, named for their North Carolina hometown, enter at #58 with their second hit single, "Carolina". They took "Musta Had A Good Time" into the top-40 last year. It's my pick for this week. Grade: B

The last debut is by newcomer Tyler Farr, who had a song on the charts called "Hot Mess" - now he's in at #59 with "Redneck Crazy". It's not what you think - it's a jilted-lover song. Grade: C+

That's it for the country side of the house...I'll be back in 90 to finish things up with the latest dance jams in the club and on the radio. Twang on!
