twostepcub's music chart for December 14, 2012..

Hey gang, it's time for my top-100 tunes for the week...this time out Adele claims her fifth consecutive #1 on my chart with "Skyfall", while six-time Grammy nominees the Black Keys (pictured above) jump right below the top-10.  There are six debuts on my chart this week (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of the artists' names, you can connect to their official website. But now, here they are, after the break...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

The top song spending its first week on my list this week is by Latin rapper Pitbull, with the third song from his Global Warming album to reach my chart. "Don't Stop The Party" features dance artist TJR, whose "Funky Vodka" this track is based on. And who can pass up Pit shirtless?

Little Big Town return with the followup to their #1 country hit "Pontoon", and "Tornado" goes as far from that rivertime fun as possible..and between this song and the Band Perry's new one the best in country music came at the end of this year...

Folk-rock trio the Lumineers are this in my top-10 (and contending to place big on my year-end chart), and they place a second song on my top-100 with "Stubborn Love"...

British girl-group legends Girls Aloud have had an untouchable streak of 20 top-10 singles in Great Britain, and they return with a new retrospective Ten (please, release it in the States!) and one of the new songs on the set, the fierce "Something New", pops on my chart as well...

The next entry is the fifth song from Coldplay's latest Mylo Xyloto to reach my chart, "Hurts Like Heaven". It features a animated video directed by Mark Osborne, who is working on another film adaptation of my favorite book from my childhood, The Little Prince....

The last debut this week is by the ex-Hey Monday singer that most likely will win The Voice this season, Cassadee Pope, with a cover of Miranda Lambert's "Over You" that so far is the biggest selling performance on iTunes this season. The original, a fave of mine, is on track to appear in my year-end best-of...(and BTW the studio recording is better than this pitchy mess)...

That does is for this week....as I mentionned, in the last ten days of the year I'll be counting down the 100 biggest songs on my chart for the year, along with a special top-40 of my favorite musical nuggets that should have been big this year. A hint, about a quarter of the songs on this week's list have a good chance of showing up on the big 100 of 2012...

But before that...tomorrow I'll bring another Song of the Day, candletime, and my five-part "chart sweeps" of the newest songs making their way on the singles charts in Billboard magazine. See you then!
