Rock Sweep: December 1, 2012...


It's time for part two of today's "chart sweeps" of the newest songs making it on to this week's charts at Billboard magazine. Now I've got the latest on rock radio...

On the Rock Airplay chart, Mumford & Sons spend an eighth week at #1 with "I Will Wait"...

Two new songs enter this list, and the higher is by the band Churchill at #43 with "Change". Their first hit has already placed on the Modern Rock and Triple-A format charts...

...while one rung below them at #44 is southern rock band 3 Doors Down with "One Light". On this composite list they made it to #22 with "When You're Young"..



Meanwhile over on the Modern Rock/Alternative format chart, Muse's "Madness" stays on top for a seventh non-consecutive week.

The high debut on this list is by Capital Cities, with their first hit "Safe And Sound" at #37...


Pop-punks the Offspring enter at #39 with "Turning Into You", the second American single from their Days Go By album. The band has topped this chart three times, with their debut "Come Out And Play", "Hit That", and "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid"...


..and coming in at #40 is Pennsylvania native ZZ Ward with "Put The Gun Down", which already is in the top-20 on the Triple-A format..


On the Mainstream Rock format chart, Three Days Grace make it eleven weeks at #1 with "Chalk Outline"...

The Rolling Stones arrive at #35 with "Doom And Gloom" from their just-released 50-year retrospective GRRR!. They have topped this chart five times since its inception in 1981, the last time with "Highwire" in 1991...


Oklahoma City-based rockers Aranda have the other debut as "One More Lie" becomes their fifth hit at #38. It follows "Satisfied", their biggest so far peaking at #16...


At the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Philip Phillips hangs on to #1 for a second week with "Home"...

The solitary debut is by L.A. indie-rock group Family Of The Year with "Hero" at #29..


On the Active Rock format, the aforementioned "Chalk Outline" is at #1 for a tenth week, as Aranda also have the top entry at #36 with "One More Lie"...

The other debut is by the Hollywood Undead, with "We Are"...


Finally, on the Heritage Rock format, "Chalk Outline" remains at #1 for a seventh week.

The aforementioned "One Light" by 3 Doors Down comes in here at #20...

All That Remains pops in at #21 with "Stand Up"...


...as the Deftones debut at #25 with "Tempest"..
