Dance Sweep: October 27, 2012...

Hey folks, we're in the closing stretch of today's "chart sweeps", where I bring you the latest songs making their way on to the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine. This time out it's the newest on the dance charts.

On the DJ-polled "Hot Dance Club Play" chart, Mariah Carey scores another #1 hit with "Triumphant (Get 'Em)".

The highest debut this week belongs to singer/Voice coach Christina Aguilera, who jumps in at #37 with her latest, "Your Body". She's had five #1 dance hits, the last, "You Lost Me" was in 2010...and I like the remixes a bit better than the original...

British boyband sensation One Direction come in at #38 with "Live While We're Young". Their US breakthrough, "What Makes You Beautiful", hit #1 in the spring. The twinks will twirl, but lord...

Trash-pop queen Ke$ha is also back with her new one, "Die Young". She took "Your Love Is My Drug" to #1 here in 2010.

L.A. based house music DJ Morgan Page returns with "Where Did You Go?" featuring Andy Caldwell and Jonathan Mendelsohn. Page has had four top-10 club hits, with "The Longest Road" making it to #4 in 2008. And this spacey detached EDM track entertains me quite a bit, for great driving music...

The final club debut is by British singer Paloma Faith, with her first US dance hit that already was a top-10 hit in the UK, "Picking Up The Pieces", and I guess I swoon for most of Moto Blanco's neo-disco jams, and this is no different...

Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Hot Dance Airplay chart, Pink's former #1 club hit "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" takes over for its first week...

R&B beefcake Usher's "Numb" jumps in at #21.  He's topped this chart twice, with "More" and also on David Guetta's "Without You"...the new song takes most of the elements from the Guetta hit...

the other debut is Ke$ha's aforementioned "Die Young" at #22. She took her first single "Tik Tok" to the top of this chart in 2010...

And without warning, wouldn't you know but the Global Dance Tracks chart is back! David Guetta and Sia are still on top for a third week with "She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)"...

The top debut here this week is by Italian DJ (Alex) Guadino, with "I Don't Wanna Dance", featuring Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas. He has topped this list once before in 2007 with "Destination Calabria"...

Scottish DJ/producer Chris Lake is in at #33 with "Stand Alone" featuring Lazy Rich and Jareth.  He went to #15 with "Only One" in 2009..

Swedish singer Lykke Li's European pop smash "I Follow Rivers" makes it onto this chart at #35, and I'm stoked this song is still doing wonders for her...

Another Swede, DJ/producer Avicii, topped this chart with "Levels", and is back at #36 with "Last Dance"...

Turkish DJ/producer Deniz Koyu had his first hit here earlier this year with "Tung!", and now is at #38 with "Follow You" featuring Wynter Gordon...

The final entry is Miami rapper Flo Rida, with "I Cry" at #40. He's gone to #3 three times on the Global dance chart, with "Right Round", "Club Can't Handle Me", and "Where Dem Girls At"...

Well that wraps up today's "sweeps". Thanks so much again for stopping by, and please check back tomorrow for another Song of the Day, Candletime, part one of this week's "Album Sweeps", and the recap of the British charts on "Brit Sweep". Good night!
