Aussie Sweep: September 26, 2012...

Hey gang, it's time for this week's trip down under to see what new songs are selling over in Australia according to their official music chart. This week Guy Sebastian and Lupe Fiasco cling to #1 for a sixth week with "Battle Scars".

This week's big debut is by American singer/songwriter Pink, who has been to #1 six times in this country, from 2000 with "Most Girls" to this year's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)". The followup to the latter song, "Try" comes in all the way up at #8 this week...

Aussie comic troupe the Janoskians (Just Another Name Of Silly Kids In Another Nation Skip) are a YouTube phenomenon in their homeland, and their first official single, "Set This World On Fire", enters at #22...

David Guetta pops in at #27 with a track from his re-released Nothing But The Beat featuring Akon and Ne-Yo called "Play Hard"....

X Factor Australia is going on right now in that country, and one of the groups featured on that show, The Collective, debut here at #35 with their version of Jessie J's "Domino"...

The Swedish House Mafia have had one top-40 hit here in Australia so far, "Miami 2 Ibiza" in 2010. Their latest, "Don't You Worry Child", comes in at #40 to make it their second...

Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen went to #1 (like everywhere else) with "Call Me Maybe", and another album track of hers, "Beautiful" with Justin Bieber, jumps in at #48. Bieber's biggest hit down under so far is 2010's #3 "Baby"...

An X Factor judge in Australia (The Collective is under his mentorship right now), Boyzone lead singer Ronan Keating has had two #3 hits here, both country covers, 1999's "When You Say Nothing At All" and "If Tomorrow Never Comes" from 2002. His latest, "Fires", arrives at #64, and it by far my favorite of the whole bunch this week (Pink's a close second)...

Sydney band Sticky Fingers debut at #80 with "Caress Your Soul", very understated and I quite like it...

Robbie Williams is back with a new single, and it's here on the Australian charts before any other. The former/possibly present Take That member has had six top-10 hits in this country, with both "Rock DJ" and "Bodies" reaching #4. "Candy", from his upcoming album Take The Crown, is in at #89...

British-born singer Lisa Mitchell placed sixth on Australian Idol in 2006, and since then she's had one top-40 hit here, 2009's "Coin Laundry". She returns at #92 with the more dirty "Bless This Mess"...

That does it for this week, thanks for stopping by, and come back tomorrow, and I'll bring you another Song of the Day, Candletime, and 7 of the 70s. G'Day!
