French Sweep: August 21, 2012...

Good afternoon, and welcome to "French Sweep", where I sample the newest music selling over in France, courtesy of their official charts. There's not much going on new this week, as Carly Rae Jepsen spends an eighth non-consecutive week at #1 with "Call Me Maybe", and there are only two new singles debuting in the top-100.

The bigger of the two is by Paris-based rap group Sexion D'Assaut, whose latest album L'Apogee has given them three top-10 singles in France so far, including the long-running hit "Avant Qu'elle Parte". Their latest, coming in at #78, is "Balader" ("Stroll")...all four singles are still in the top-100..

...while at #90 is the Icelandic rock group Of Monsters and Men who bring their worldwide hit here with "Little Talks"...

That's it for now, but stay tuned, Kraut Sweep is coming up later tonight, and there's fourteen new songs making their way there. Au Revoir!
