Aussie Sweep: August 29, 2012...






It's time to sample the new music selling down under, according to their official charts. This week Guy Sebastian hangs on to #1 for a second week with "Battle Scars".

The top entry this week is by the Irish rock band the Script, with help from will.i.am, who is a judge on the British version of The Voice with Script lead singer Danny O'Donoghue. They come in all the way at #7 with "Hall Of Fame". The band has had two previous top-10 hits here, "Breakeven" and "Before The Worst"...

British rapper Wiley scores his first Australian hit at #44 with his UK charttopper "Heatwave" featuring Ms. D...


Melbourne indie pop duo Gypsy & The Cat opened for Kylie Minogue on her last tour supporting Aphrodite, and they come in at #60 with "Sorry"...


Homegrown group The Rubens debut at # 70 with "My Gun"....


British alt-rockers Muse made the top-40 in Australia four times, with "Undisclosed Desires" almost going A-list at #11. They go for a fifth at #82 with their latest, "Madness"...


French DJ/producer David Guetta has topped the Australian pop chart twice, with 2009's "Sexy Bitch" with Akon, and a year later on "Sweat" with Snoop Dogg. He debuts at #93 with the brand new "She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)" featuring Australian singer Sia. She had scored three top-10 hits as a featured performer last year, including the #1 hit "Wild Ones" with Flo Rida, and again with Guetta on "Titanium"...
