Pop Sweep: July 21, 2012...

Hey folks, thanks for stoppin' by, it's time for the first of today's five-part "chart sweep" of this week's music charts in Billboard magazine. In this installment I'll take a look at the songs debuting on the all-genre Hot 100 and Adult-Pop radio songs charts.

On the big one, the Hot 100, the highest debut belongs to Pink, who comes in at #58 with her new and predictably irreverent single "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)". It's also the top entry on the Adult-pop songs list all the way up at #22..(NSFW)

Entering at #69 (hee hee) is another inappropriately titled hit, this time country singer Tim McGraw with the first single from his new label, Big Machine, with "Truck Yeah"...

Miami hip-hop DJ Khaled arrives at #78 with "I Wish You Would", featuring rappers Kanye West and Rick Ross...(NSFW)

R&B singer/songwriter Trey Songz debuts at #97 on the big chart with a track that's already up at #11 on the R&B radio list, "2 Reasons" featuring rapper T.I....(NSFW)

and down at #99 is the newest single from the Puerto Rican rapper you cannot escape, Pitbull, with "Get It Started" featuring Colombian singer Shakira....

Meanwhile, over on the Adult Pop songs radio list, after the new Pink song, the next entry is at #38. It's Canadian Daniel Powter, who had a huge hit in 2005 with the five-week #1 "Bad Day", with the first single from his upcoming album Turn On The Lights due this summer, called "Cupid"...

And Long Island-born Ryan Star, who got his big break on the show Rock Star: Supernova trying to become the lead singer for Dave Navarro's supergroup (he didn't), is back with "Stay Awhile"...

That's it on the pop side...stay tuned...in an hour and a half I'll have up the newest singles on the rock radio charts....
