Rock Sweep: June 23, 2012...

Round 2: this weeks sampling of tracks hitting Billboard magazine's Rock Songs, Alternative, and Triple-A radio charts this week.

On the all-inclusive Rock Songs list, Hollywood Undead frontman Deuce (pictured above) is recovering from an attack by his presumably former bandmates in the Hollywood Undead, and his first solo single enters the list at #48. It's "America"...

And a personal fave of mine, British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran's "The A Team" makes the big rock list at #50. The album just came out in the US this week, and it's definitely worth picking up...

Meanwhile, over on the Modern Rock/Alternative list, AWOLnation have their third hit in this list at #39 with "Kill Your Heroes". Their first single, "Sail" was an underground hit that went gold without even making the top-40...

Swedish rock group the Hives' latest album Lex Hives just was released at the beginning of the month, and the first single enters at #40, "Go Right Ahead"...I love these guys!

And over on the Triple-A (hipster rock) chart, another big personal fave, Scotswoman Emeli Sande, debuts at #26 with "Next To Me", which you may like if you like Leona Lewis...

and finally, at #30, is singer/songwriter Meiko, born in Georgia but living now in L.A., with "Leave The Lights On"...

Rock on! Next up, the newest R&B singles this week...
