French Sweep: June 19, 2012...

Bonjour, folks, and now time to take a look and the new music hitting the charts in France...

French modern-rock outfit M83, from the Cote D'Azur town of Antibes, named for a galaxy (Messier 83), and fronted by Anthony Gonzalez, have already conquered America with their top-5 rock hit "Midnight City", and finally see it reach their own country's chart at #81....

Swiss singer Quentin Mosimann first got his break in France on the reality show Star Academy, and has had two top-10 hits here, including a song that made # in Belgium, "Cherchez Le Garcon". His latest track is a bilingual dance thumper that's quite entertaining, if not a bit braggart, as "Je Suis DJ" at #82...

The next entry is by British singer Birdy, whose beautiful "Skinny Love" just raced up to the #2 spot on this week's French chart. Her followup is already at #85, and it's called "People Help The People", and I recommend her to anymore who loves their emotional female singers...

Singer Tal was born in Israel but raised in France most of her life, and she follows up her cool top-5 single "Le Sens De La Vie" with "Je Prends Le Large" at #90..

Au Revoir! Next up, the newest singles hitting German radio...
