In the wake of disco legend Donna Summer's death, as record stores restock on her music, The Best Of Donna Summer: 20th Century Masters:  The Millenium Collection has its first week on the Billboard 200 at #171. It's an odd collection - at only eleven songs it's mostly made of more obscure cuts than a regular hits CD would have, but it does manage to have three top-10 pop hits - "Heaven Knows", "The Wanderer", and the sublime "This Time I Know It's For Real"...

It's surprising the Asian-American rap collective Far East Movement hadn't been able to carry the momentum of their debut album, which had the #1 hit "Like A G6" and top-10 "Rocketeer", as their single "Live My Life" just missed the top-20, even with Justin Bieber providing vocals, and their sophomore CD Dirty Bass coming in at #190, and hopefully will catch on, there's some good tracks on here...

and finally, at #197, is DJ Diplo with his Express Yourself EP....

That's it. For me, the Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Hot Chip, Once cast album, and Motion City Soundtrack sets are the best bets.
